Swan Energy Ltd currently work with Bolton Hospital NHS Foundation Trust to ensure accurate and on-time EU ETS mandatory carbon reporting. Swan Energy assisted in the 2016 boiler replacement scheme, liaising with the Competent Authority with regards to permit variations and submitting notifications to ensure that Royal Bolton Hospital remained compliant with EU ETS throughout the implementation of the scheme. This allowed Royal Bolton Hospital to substitute two polluting coal boilers with one Combined Heat and Power unit (CHP) and an associated auxiliary-fired waste heat boiler. These new units provide the hospital with cost effective and fuel-efficient energy, enabling Bolton Hospital NHS Foundation Trust to stay within their EU ETS annual emissions target.
